Cold Tolerance: Damaged at 25 F, Killed at 14 F Soil Type: Grow well in a variety of soils, but need good drainage. Trees are drought tolerant.
Size: Can grow 20 to 30 ft high, but usually smaller. Varieties: Orange-fleshed varieties: Big Jim, Early Red, Gold Nugget, Mogi, Mrs. Cooksey, Strawberry, Tanaka, Wolfe. White-fleshed varieties: Advance, Benlehr, Champagne, Herd's Mammoth, Victory, Vista White.
Comments: A very attractive tree for landscaping. The white fleshed varieties are better adapted to cool coastal areas.
